Of
Irish ancestry, raised in New York. Educated in Boston and worked
for Little, Brown and Company before taking time off to study for
a masters in Anglo Irish Literature at University College, Dublin.
Met Niall Williams in UCD where he was studying for an MA in American
Literature. Married in New York and worked as a freelance copyeditor,
gardener, and also as a copyeditor at the American Journal of Medicine.
After the couple’s move to Clare and years of farming, she
founded along with five other craft workers a co-operative, artist-run
gift shop called Clare Craft and Design in Ennis from where she
sold her paintings, and pen and ink sketches, which at the time
of the Kiltumper books were in great demand. But in 1994, Christine
decided to undertake the study of homeopathy and qualified four
years later becoming a registered member of the Irish Society of
Homeopaths. Christine has been writing health and gardening columns
for The
Clare People and is the facilitator of a monthly book club which
she also writes about.
So
Many Miles to Paradise, Christine's travel book about
the family's trip around the world in 2002/3 was published by Townhouse,
Ireland. Her novel Two Blue Moons
is still circulating and she is working on the illustrations for
a children’s picture book she has written called Tom’s
Cat.
A registered member of the Irish Society of Homeopaths,
Christine has been a practicing Homeopath for over ten years, and
is currently seeing clients at The Henry Street Clinic, Kilrush,
Co Clare.
A keen gardener for over thirty years, and author
of a weekly gardening column, Christine also does occasional garden
